Course Validation (External Institutions)

Course validation is the process of recognizing studies completed outside UFSC, aiming to acknowledge equivalent knowledge already acquired, without compromising the student’s academic formation. This process is regulated by Normative Resolution 001/CAUT/CTJ, dated April 11, 2025, which limits the validation to a maximum of 8 (eight) credits.

Students wishing to validate a course taken at another Higher Education Institution (HEI) must submit a request to the academic office along with the following documents:

I. Academic transcript or an equivalent official document issued by the HEI;
II. Official syllabus and detailed course description from the institution where the course was taken;
III. Total course hours (or credits) of the completed course;
IV. Completed Course Validation Request Form available at the academic office.
