Graduation is an extremely important time for a college student. After several years of hard work, late nights and exhausting tests, finally the your recognition as a qualified professional arrives. Your graduation is not only the final goal, but also the beginning of a path to achieve and build a successful career. The Automotive Engineering program at UFSC  graduated its first class in 2014. Since then, several other students have completed the program and started their careers with a solid knowledge of engineering, working in companies and industries in the automotive or mechanical sector.

Alumni Stories

Renan Luís Knabben (BMW, USA)

I had the opportunity to do an internship for 1 year at BMW Manufacturing – United States, in the areas of process planning and quality. It was a fantastic experience, in which I was able to actively participate in the launch of the automaker’s main models. The knowledge acquired throughout the program, in the courses, in the Eficem project team and in  Scientific Initiation projects was essential for me to overcome challenges and develop myself as a person and professional.

Rodrigo Inocêncio Cane (Stellantis)

The choice for the Automotive Engineering program was crucial for the beginning of my career. The specific courses and extra activities offered by UFSC brought me great preparation for the automaker environment and a professionalization that would come at a high cost if I looked for this knowledge outside the university. The technical baggage and experiences lived in the Formula CEM team have guaranteed an advantage in the job market due to the ease of transition from university to industry. Today, as a product engineer at Stellantis, I work with several brands such as Fiat, Jeep and Dodge, applying knowledge obtained in specific courses and with a work routine very similar to that of the team.

Jéssica Karine Prochnow (Bosch – Stuttgart)

I did an internship at Robert Bosch GmbH, located in Stuttgart – Germany. My department was responsible for the management of technological innovation projects for Industry 4.0. Knowledge in the areas of project and product management and development, as well as other knowledge acquired during the program, contributed to the strategic planning, development processes and innovation activities.
