Complementary Activities

Students must complete 12 credits in Complementary Activities (equivalent to 180 hours or 216 class hours). These activities include attendance in lectures and courses, development of scientific initiation research or outreach projects, organization of events, participation in competition teams, among other activities.

It should be noted that students can validate a maximum number of hours for each type of activity, so that they seek to diversify and take advantage of the different possibilities and gain experience in the many ways of experiencing the university routine.

Procedure

Students who reach the minimum number of hours in extra-class activities can request validation of Complementary Activities (CA), following a calendar that is released by the Program every six months.

At the time set out in the calendar, students must submit the completed CA validation request form, the hours form (file below) and all supporting documents (a copy accompanied by the originals), directly to the Program’s Office.

Attention: The form must be signed with a digital signature. Click here to sign the pdf form before submitting it. Documents will only be accepted if they are accompanied by a digitally signed form.

Curriculum Migration - 2012 to 2016

Students who chose to migrate from the previous curriculum (2012) to the current one (2016) and did not attend the courses EMB5039 (Physics II), EMB5047 (Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems) and EMB5356 (Vehicle Construction Materials and Processes II), in addition to required courses for equivalence, must take another 8 credits in elective courses or Complementary Activities. Thus, the excess hours (more than 216 CH) can be directed to complete the missing hours of these courses.

Attention:  for counting purposes 18 CH is equivalent to 1.0 course credit.
